    A prebiotic is an insoluble food fibre for beneficial gut bacteria.  Eating a diet rich in prebiotic foods helps us maintain a healthy-gut-flora and microbiome.  Inulin is a type of insoluble plant carbohydrate that is a prebiotic food source.

    Prebiotic Foods include;
    Chicory Root, Dandelion greens, Jerusalem artichoke, Garlic, Onions, Leeks, Asparagus, Banana, Blueberries, Seaweed, Apples, Jicama, Yacon Root, Burdock root, Shitake Mushrooms, Barley, Oats, Wheat bran, Legumes, Beans, Peas, Raw Cacao, Flaxseeds, Chia Seeds, Honey,

Base

  • 1 cup pineapple - frozen | fresh
  • 1 banana
  • 1 mango
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 cubes passionfruit puree*
  • ½ - 1 cup water
  • coconut chips to garnish - optional

Method

 

Pure Tropical Botanical Bowl

 

ADD all ingredients into a blender jug and blend until smooth.  

 

TASTE if you need sweetness, add another banana, an orange or an apple first. Taste again, then add a little honey or maple if you really need it. 

 

THICKNESS you want this to be a thick almost icecream like a puree – add a little water if you need to.

USE FROZEN or fresh fruit ~ if you want it to be like an icecream | sorbet then use mostly frozen fruits.

 

PASSIONFRUIT – if you are lucky you can find it in the frozen fruit section in a bag with cubes, a treasured tropical flavour bomb.

 

ADD Coconut cream, powder or milk if you want to add fat and more creaminess.

 

SMOOTHIE style – add more water so the consistency is drinkable.
