Peach Raspberry & Basil Smoothie

The combination of fruit, basil and pumpkin seeds makes this smoothie high in fibre, zinc, antioxidants and nutrients which support a healthy gut & immune system + calming and uplifting.  Use Tulsi instead of basil to add more medicinal benefits to your smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 2 peaches - stone removed
  • 2 cups raspberries – fresh | frozen
  • 3-4 cups water
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • 1 cup ice - optional
  • 2 sprigs basil | tulsi

Method

 

Peach Raspberry & Basil Smoothie

 

BLEND all ingredients in a blender until smooth. If your machine is single-serve, blend in batches.  

 

TASTE and adjust the texture by adding more water if too thick.

 

SERVE with a sprig of flowering basil or tulsi.  You can chop the leaves finely and stir through the smoothie too.

BOTANICAL BOOST ADDS = plant-based protein powder, açai berry powder, marshmallow root powder, lucuma, maca (gelatinised is easier to digest). 

 

SWAP raspberries for blueberries, strawberries, or mix them.

 

SWAP peaches for nectarines, plums, orange, mango – the flavour will be different

 

BASIL | TULSI you can use either basil or tulsi. Tulsi, also known as holy basil or sacred basil, is native to India and a member of the Lamiaceae family or mint family that consists of many aromatic and medicinal plants.  Tulsi is a prominent Ayurvedic herb known for its adaptogenic properties that helps our body adapt to physical, chemical and emotional stress.
