Creamy Date & Tahini Hot Chocolate

Smooth, rich and creamy; my hot chocolate with dates and tahini is a true whole foods recipe.  I use dates as a sweetener to add nutrient density, minerals and fibre. 


Dates, oats, tahini, and cacao are anti-inflammatory, brain, nervous systems and heart-healthy tonic foods making this hot chocolate a delicious food as medicine hug in a mug and a great afternoon pick-me-up or quick morning meal in a mug.  You could make as an iced chocolate smoothie style.

  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1-2 pitted dates OR 1-2 tsp date sugar
  • 1 ½ cups hot water


Creamy Date & Tahini Hot Chocolate


ADD ALL Ingredients to a blender jug.


BLEND 45 seconds until smooth.


SERVE immediately in a mug.   Pair with Crazy Bird Cookies or Healthy Carrot Zucchini Muffins

SWAP dates for raisins or sweetener of your choice.


LOW FODMAP + IBS use 1 date or swap for maple syrup.
