    A prebiotic is an insoluble food fibre for beneficial gut bacteria.  Eating a diet rich in prebiotic foods helps us maintain a healthy-gut-flora and microbiome.  Inulin is a type of insoluble plant carbohydrate that is a prebiotic food source.

Base

  • 2 cups blueberries - frozen | fresh
  • 1 apple | ½ cup apple sauce
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup water
  • 3.5oz pkt dragon fruit puree*

ADD-IN Ideas

  • 3 cubes passionfruit juice
  • orange
  • raspberries - frozen | fresh
  • cranberries - frozen | fresh
  • mixed berries - fresh | frozen
  • 1 cup spinach or kale leaves
  • 1 tbsp super seed mix

Method

 

Blue Dragon Smoothie

 

ADD all ingredients into a blender jug and blend until smooth.  

 

TASTE if you need sweetness, add another banana, an orange or an apple first. Taste again, then add a little honey or maple if you really need it. 

 

IF it is too thick, add a little more water.
