Basil Berry Bliss

2 cups raspberries – fresh or frozen OR mixed berries
1 orange, peeled and cut into quarters
3/4 cup fresh basil leaves – sweet basil, purple basil, or holy basil (tulsi)
2 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp hemp seeds
3 tbsp raw pumpkin seeds – makes it nice and creamy
2-3 cups water
1 cup of ice if you would like it really cold
In a blender, Vitamix, Ninja, Nutri-bullet or whatever blending smoothie-making machine you may have, add all ingredients and blend until smooth. If your machine is single-serve, blend in batches.
Taste and adjust texture by adding more water if too thick, and adding sweetness if needed to taste.
Serve with a sprig of basil.
Botanical Boosts: you can also add plant-based protein powder, açai berry powder, marshmallow root powder, or maca (gelatinized is easier to digest).
