Our mission is to help fill the gaps in our healthcare systems for patients and clients and to support practitioners. We empower people to use food as medicine, cook with confidence and eat to thrive.
Memberships provide weekly menus, recipes and meal ideas with a functional nutrition and food-as-medicine approach that follows seasonal eating, farms and markets.
Committed to supporting local seasonal eating and sustainable farmers, Founder and Chef Karina Hines creates simple how-to recipes that adapt to dietary needs, food allergies and preferences.
YES Botanical Kitchen memberships follow the seasons. Our weekly recipes + menus feature ingredients that are in-season week by week all year round.
We aim to help farmers’ markets & CSAs shoppers, support farms & help communities cook local food with confidence.
We offer two monthly memberships Patch to PLATE + Whole Plant LIFE that provide weekly menus, recipes and meal ideas that follow seasonal eating with a functional nutrition approach.
Founder Karina Hines is a functional nutritional chef and believes each individual has their own dietary needs. All our recipes are whole-ingredient, and in-season nutrient-dense focussed.
Patch to PLATE is an omnivore membership with meat, fish, eggs and, dairy and in-season farm-to-table style ingredients with suggested ingredients swaps & substitutions to suit food allergies, therapeutic & diet styles.
Whole Plant LIFE is a whole-food plant-based vegan membership using whole in-season plant ingredients with suggested ingredients swaps & substitutions to suit food allergies, therapeutic & diet styles.
- To help small farm supporters and customers learn how to cook healthy, local, and in-season food.
- To bridge the gap between lifestyle medicine practitioners and patients with how-to, make significant dietary changes.
- To help people with food allergies, health concerns and dis-ease become empowered in their own healing journey.
When we buy from local farmers, we are reinvesting in our own local food security, economy, environment and personal health.
I think we all have to do the best that we can. Buying frozen fruits and vegetables is great; they are as nutrient-dense as buying fresh, sometimes more so, as they are harvested in peak season and immediately frozen.
Buy as many fruits and vegetables as possible and grow what you can in your backyards, containers around your home and your local community gardens.
YES. Our recipes include personalised ingredient adaptations for food allergies, sensitivities, dietary needs and preferences.
We provide an affordable and adaptable approach to therapeutic cooking.
Inflammation is at the root of all dis-ease. Eating an anti-inflammatory diet helps reduce inflammation and manage symptoms which is a foundational part of the healing journey. Food allergy symptoms are the body’s response to inflammation.
Change is hard, and making dietary changes is challenging; figuring out what to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner with dietary restrictions is hard and can feel punishing.
“I am all about nourishing, not punishing” with my extensive education and experience, I have the skill set to really help guide people with the “how-to” of making the changes they want to make by providing menus, meal ideas and recipes with adaptations”.
“ I offer practical examples of what breakfast, lunch & dinner looks like using sensible ingredients to help people succeed in their health goals”.
