WHO IS BOTANICAL KITCHEN FOR?

Botanical Kitchen is for anyone who wants to focus on healthy cooking and eating from a beginner to a seasoned chef.  There is something for everyone; from people who want to make dietary changes but don’t know how and would like some support right through to those interested in cooking with medicinal herbs and learning more about plant properties and food as medicine.

HOW DO I JOIN BOTANICAL KITCHEN?

DO YOU HAVE RECIPES FOR SPECIFIC DIETARY NEEDS?

YES – Botanical Kitchen focuses on recipes for healthy eating, food as medicine and supporting people with specific dietary requirements, food allergies and intolerances

DO YOU HAVE RECIPES FOR PEOPLE WITH FOOD ALLERGIES?

ABSOLUTELY – Botanical Kitchen is designed to support people with food allergies and intolerances.  There is a whole section of recipe category filters for Food Allergies + Free-from recipes.

 

 

ARE BOTANICAL KITCHEN'S RECIPES PLANT-BASED?

YES – recipes are predominantly plant-based some recipes use eggs and honey, there is a chef tips & suggestions box at the bottom of each recipe that gives substitution options.

DOES BOTANICAL KITCHEN'S HAVE DAIRY-FREE RECIPES?

YES.

DO YOU HAVE GLUTEN-FREE RECIPES?

YES.

ARE BOTANICAL KITCHEN'S RECIPES REFINED SUGAR-FREE?

YES.

HOW MUCH DOES MEMBERSHIP COST?

During the Covid-19 crisis, our membership is FREE to help you eat to thrive!

WILL BOTANICAL KITCHEN BOMBARD ME WITH EMAILS?

NO – we know what that is like!  Each month new menu’s and recipes and blog’s will be posted on Botanical Kitchen’s website you may receive a notification.

WILL BOTANICAL KITCHEN SELL MY EMAIL INFORMATION?

NO – we aim to support people who are interested in eating healthy food.

DO THE RECIPES HAVE POP-UP ADVERTISEMENTS?

NO – pop-up advertising is annoying!

IS BOTANICAL KITCHEN'S CONTENT SPONSORSHIP DRIVEN?

NO – we do not have any sponsorship.  The content is created by chef Karina Hines and is based on her opinion from her experience with food, plants and people, her studies and research.

IS BOTANICAL KITCHEN A LARGE COMPANY

NO – Botanical Kitchen is a small one women-run business by founder Karina Hines.  Karina has over 20 years experience and is a passionate chef, herbalist, gardener and educator who believes in the healing power of plants.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY RECURRING SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENTS?

During the Covid-19 crisis, membership is FREE to help you eat to thrive!  You can cancel your membership at any time by emailing info@botanicalkitchen.com.

CAN I CHANGE MY MEMBERSHIP CHOICE AFTER I HAVE JOINED?

During Covid-19 our membership plans are all free to help you eat to thrive. 

WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO MY RECIPES AFTER MY MEMBERSHIP HAS EXPIRED?

RIGHT NOW ITS ALL FREE.  Once your subscription is over, you will no longer have access to the membership required pages or past meal plans that required membership.

WHAT IS FOOD AS MEDICINE - WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

What we eat affects our health, and everybody is different. Eating nourishing food to support your body and using plants every day to help balance health and wellness. 

 

DOES BOTANICAL KITCHEN OFFER MEDICAL AND HEALTH ADVICE?

NO – each person is responsible for their healthcare and consulting with their professional healthcare advisor.  The information on this site is about plants, the nutritional and medicinal properties that those plants are believed to have and recipes that you can make with the plants. The information is for cooking, eating fabulous food and for educational and interest purposes only and is the opinion of Botanical Kitchen.

 

WHO DID THE FOOD STYLING, PHOTOS, CONTENT AND WEBSITE FOR BOTANICAL KITCHEN?

I work with a fantastic web designer & developer Micki Huizinga; she is brilliant, kind, fun, and so incredibly patient and talented. I also collaborate with local photographers a few times a year. Professional Photography credits go to the fabulous Brad Bahner, Jim Flynn and Mike Spencer – they take the snaps, and I do the food styling and content design. The rest is all me – I create recipes, style and snap more photos, write content, and load it all onto the website.
